Don’t think for a moment that we forgot.
25 (yes, twenty five!!!) years have gone by since Desmond Howard, a Michigan legend and Heisman winner, made the absolutely astounding receiving play against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish that has since been dubbed “The Catch.”
Howard made a tremendous effort, diving for the ball thrown by Wolverine quarterback Elvis Grbac and coming up with the ball in the end zone in what is one the most memorable plays in college football history. The play gave the Wolverines the boost they needed to come away with a 24-14 victory back in 1991.
