In the 2016 Michigan football recruiting class, Jim Harbaugh landed a top five quarterback in Brandon Peters. Well, it looks like Michigan will have another top five quarterback in the 2017 class. When 2017 Littleton, CO (Valor Christian) QB Dylan McCaffrey commited to Michigan late Monday night.

Stats: In McCaffrey’s junior season he completed 65-percent of his passes for 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns on only four interceptions. He also ran for 592 yards and 13 TD’s.
Overall McCaffrey has a lot of potential and has all the physical tools to be the next great QB at Michigan. He makes a lot of big-time plays from inside the pocket and outside the pocket with his feet. He has a cannon of an arm and he can make all the throws on the field needed. Obviously, he will need to improve his game a little bit. He tends to telegraph his passes, he needs to build more strength, and read coverages a little better. However, that will be no problem under Jim Harbaugh.
McCaffrey is well known for his famous family full of football stars. His father is a former NFL receiver and his brother, Christian McCaffrey, is a star at Stanford. However, his name won’t carry him anywhere at the next level. His elite arm, pocket presence, physical tools and athletic ability will carry him at Michigan.
McCaffrey has always been very interested in Michigan since the Wolverines offered. Michigan looked like a perfect fit with their offensive system and the great relationship with Harbaugh. However, it always looked like Stanford could be la legit threat to pull him away from Ann Arbor due to the connections to Stanford. Other schools like LSU, Northwestern, and UCLA also were legit threats. A few weeks ago, McCaffrey did inform me that Michigan was his leader and that is why I had him in my predicted 2017 class that got released Monday night.
