Jim Haraugh’s Travel Expenses

Coach Jim Harbaugh put together a top 5 recruiting class for 2016, which was his true first class. The group included kids from 13 states: New Jersey, Florida, Alabama, California, and Georgia. His contract includes the use of a private plane for “as reasonable for all recruiting purposes.” Travel records show that over his first month on the job in January of 2015, he had a twelve day stretch with a staff to build showing he spent more than $10,000 imagea day. His experienced staff at the college level and NFL led Michigan to a developed and outstanding defense, improved offense and a dominating bowl game finish in his first season at 10-3. Prior to Coach Rodriguez and Hoke, this season record was the normal result including wins over their top rivals.

On Thursday, the records were provided in a response to a public request by USA Today sports filed last in August 2015.

We know this past recruiting season Coach Harbaugh and his staff was all over the country checking in on recruits and working hard to build a top recruiting class after gaining momentum after the successful casual first season. Periodically, coaches would post something on social media about an early morning about where they were going. You also would see pictures being posted by the recruits and Michigan coaches.

Coach Harbaugh has no problem spending money and time available for traveling, what we will find out over the next few years if that pays off with B1G Conference Championships and College Football Playoff games to play for the programs 12th National Championship.
