Help Wanted: The Wolverine Daily Seeks New PAID Writers

The Wolverine Daily is looking for hungry, ambitious writers that love the University of Michigan and are willing to devote some of their time to covering the university’s athletics.

We are currently looking to add 1-3 new writers to our staff. Our stuff is made up of some of the best minds in sports blogging, so we expect nothing less from our applicants. Currently, 3 of our staff members receive compensation, while the rest will begin to see payment in the near future. These positions will also become paid positions as time allows.

The Wolverine Daily operates on a revenue per page view platform. Basically, the amount of visitors the site receives determines how much our staff members get paid, so there’s no room for sub par stories! Since our wonderful site is in its infancy, our staff receives $0.50 per 200 views on a story. Let’s say you publish a story about Jim Harbaugh and that story receives 400 views, you would receive $1. Now, our stories receive more than 400 views, so as that number increases, so does your pay for that post.

At this time The Wolverine Daily is seeking applicants for the following positions:

  • Breaking News Writer
  • Football/Recruiting Beat Writer
  • Baseball Beat Writer

It is important to note that to be eligible for payment, each writer must publish at least 5 posts in a monthly period. Failure to meet this obligation will result in the forfeit of any profit made by the writer off his/her work. If you should be accepted, you will undergo a one week training period in which you will produce three articles and your work will be scrutinized by our management and other staff members. Should The Wolverine Daily be satisfied with the work you have produced, then you will come on as a full time member of our writing staff.

The Wolverine Daily is looking for the following skills in its applicants:

  • Enjoy working in a startup environment
  • Strong writing/blogging skills
  • Creative mind that enjoys developing story ideas
  • Prior writing experience is NOT required, but preferred.

So. Do you really want to be apart of the fastest growing Michigan publication on the web?

Send an email to with the position you are applying for as the subject. EX. Subject: [Breaking News Writer] along with why you should be considered and our Editorial Team will contact you as soon as possible!

The Wolverine Daily is aggressively pursuing candidates for these positions! Individuals who are interested should apply immediately.
