Orchard Lake, Michigan– The Wolverines received some greats news and picked up another 2017 commit early Tuesday morning. Josh Ross, a four star linebacker from St. Mary’s, committed on the Michigan Insider Show WTKA-AM 1050 with Sam Webb. Ross (6-2, 225 pounds) is the sixth commitment for the 2017 class for the Wolverines and first linebacker. His brother, James Ross, was a senior linebacker on the Michigan 2015 team. Ross was one of four juniors on The Detroit Free Press dream team this past season, leading his team with more than 100 tackles, forced seven fumbles, and a Division 3 state championship. He is the No. 6 linebacker in the nation and No. 6 player in th state.
When asked this morning on the radio about his decision Ross said. “After I sat down with Don Brown I knew it was time. Just based on what he showed me with that defense, it fits me perfectly. I just can’t pass the opportunity up. He really blitzes his linebackers.”
Ross was offered by Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, among many others. His first offer came from Oklahoma on October 7, 2013 with Michigan on February 23, 2014. He only visited East Lansing and Ann Arbor with Michigan being a heavy favorite for most of the recruiting process.
