Just a year ago the Michigan Wolverines softball team came up just short for their second National Championship ever. This years team is looking to flip the script and challenge once again for that National Championship.

The Wolverines finished the regular season with a convincing record of 47-5, but fell in extra innings to the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Big 10 championship game.  This years team was lead by team captain and senior Sierra Romero.  Sierra batted .479 and belted 18 home runs during the regular season, she lead the Wolverines in both batting percentage, RBI and home runs.

The Wolverines hosted a NCAA regional final in which Michigan, Notre Dame, Valparaiso and Miami (Ohio) all were invited to play a small tournament in Ann Arbor.  The tournament started off well for the Wolverines, they first defeated Valparaiso in easy fashion 8-0 in the first game.  The second game was Michigan defeating Miami (Ohio)  6-0, with the win Michigan advanced to the NCAA Regional final to face off against no. 23 Notre Dame.  Michigan beat Notre Dame 6-2 to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals where they will face off against no.15 Missouri Tigers in a best of 3 series.

The Wolverines look to finish this years NCAA tournament strong with a NCAA National Championship.
