Just a few days after 5-Star OL Isaiah Wilson shocked the recruiting world and announced his commitment to Georgia, Michigan picks up another important recruit. Cesar Ruiz finally announced his decision to head north next year and play at the University of Michigan. The New Jersey native is a 4-star ranked center currently attending IMG Academy in Florida. Ruiz is also the #1 overall player in the class at his position, according to the 247 sports composite.
Cesar Ruiz last visited Michigan on October 1 for the Wisconsin game and had a visit with coaches Don Brown and Jedd Fisch back in May. This commitment has been locked down for quite sometime now according to most experts. Ruiz’s many other notable offers include North Carolina, Auburn, LSU, and Florida. Ruiz is the 24th recruit in this class with a few more potentially announcing this week.
TWD SCOUTING REPORT:
“Ruiz is a truly gifted center. Transferring to IMG has allowed the former Camden, New Jersey standout to really polish his game. He is without a doubt the nation’s top center prospect and with depth on the offensive line becoming a little bit of a concern for Michigan, will definitely be pushing for a starting role sooner rather than later. Ruiz in our opinion, is a 5-star caliber prospect and is significant gain for Jim Harbaugh and Co.”
