2017 Defensive Back J’Marick Woods Commits to Michigan

Ann Arbor, Mi. The Michigan Wolverines received more good news on Monday when they received their second commit of the day from 2017 safety J’Marick Woods, who announced he would be committing to the Wolverines on Twitter. Running Back AJ Dillon committed to the Wolverines earlier Monday.

Woods is rated as a three-star recruit, the 26th best safety, and the 348th overall prospect in the 2017 class per 247 Sports, while Scout lists Woods as a four-star and the 22nd best safety in the class.

Woods, who is from Florence, Alabama, is yet another prospect Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has been able to steal from SEC territory, joining the likes of Devin Bush Jr., Elysee Mbem-Bosse, Kingston Davis, and Joshua Uche. Woods was on campus this past weekend, where the time spent with Michigan’s coaching staff clearly paid off in the form of another commitment.

At 6-3, 205 pounds, Woods has great size and athleticism, but is certainly a raw prospect that Jim Harbaugh’s staff will get to mold into a fixture in their backfield. However, look for Woods’ great size to be an asset for the Wolverines’ backfield in the future.

Woods is the eighth commit to Jim Harbaugh’s 2017 recruiting class. He also holds offers Tennessee, Penn State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Florida, among others.

Woods also posted a video to his twitter account following his initial announcement, which shows Wood’s in front of the “This is Michigan” sign in Schembechler Hall.
