2017 Las Vegas (Nev.) CB Alex Perry Will Visit Michigan Before His Commitment Date

One of the top cornerbacks in the west coast; Las Vegas, NV (Bishop Gorman) four-star cornerback Alex Perry is one of Michigan’s top cornerback targets in the 2017 class. Perry is a very athletic and explosive cornerback, who can cover and move well in his drop back. All that has the Michigan coaching staff very interested in Perry.

A few weeks ago, Perry took a visit to Ann Arbor for the Michigan spring game. The Bishop Gorman standout had a chance to visit Ann Arbor for the very first time. He also had a chance to see the campus and the facilities at Michigan. He also talked with Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown and secondary coach Michael Zordich during his trip as well.

“Michigan is a great program and a power house school with a lot to offer,” Perry informed me about Michigan. “They provide a good education and they have a great coaching staff that has experience. Not to mention, but to graduate from Michigan with a degree would be big. My visit to Michigan was good, I got to meet up with all the coaches and the coaching staff. However, it was really cold.”

While Perry was on his visit to Michigan, he had a chance to talk to the Michigan coaching staff, mainly Michael Zordich and Don Brown. Both of the coaches made a big impression on Perry, not just in terms of football, but the unique conversation the three had.

“Coach Brown, Coach Zordich, and me talked about video games,” Perry said about his conversation with the Michigan coaching staff. “We talked about if the new Call of Duty was better than the last one; I thought the last one was better. I thought it was pretty cool that they knew that much about video games. However, we also talked about the Michigan defense and things like that. They are both great guys. Plus, I had a good conversation with Kareem Walker because we are good friends and we just talked about me coming there.”

After a successful visit to Michigan, The Wolverines now appear to be in really good position heading into a likely summer decision for Perry. One of the main reasons Michigan is in such good position for the talented west coast cornerback is because of the comfort he had on the visit and how hard Michigan has recruited Perry.

“Michigan is a pretty good fit for me, that’s one of the main reasons why they’re a top school for me in my recruitment. The other reason is how hard the Michigan coaching staff has recruited me. They are in contact with me about every week and ask me how I am doing and all that.”

Perry is coming close to making up his mind on where he wants to attend college. He plans to make a commitment in August, a few weeks before his senior season at Bishop Gorman starts. Well, The Wolverines will be in really good position for Perry because he plans to visit Michigan “around the time of August.”

“I plan on making my commitment a few weeks before my senior season starts, sometime in August. In addition, I plan to visit Michigan before my commitment.”

Adding: “Michigan is a top school for me, but so is Arizona State, Arizona, and Colorado.”

The Wolverines look to be in prime position by the time Perry makes his commitment in August before his senior season. With Michigan getting a visit from the four-star cornerback before his commitment. The coaching staff could very well end up with a talented west coast cornerback in the 2017 class.
